Ampersand Wall Hanging
Ampersand Wall Hanging
Ever try counting how many shades of green you see in Spring? Have you watched pollen fall? Even the sunsets change. Are you having a hard time concentrating when the weather is so incredible outside? Wait, is it raining? Is it a windows down, no a/c sort of day? Ahh, the delirium of Spring!
When I was a small girl, the main contact I have with my grandparents was by aerogramme. (That’s a special trip-folded paper letter sent from overseas, traditionally light blue in color).
This lightweight wooden piece comes with a built-in wall hanger and has been created with vintage postal stamps in countless shades of green. The piece measures approximately 11” in length and makes for a fun addition to any living space or literary lover. This item comes lined with floral patterned felt to protect whatever surface it comes in contact with. Handwritten on the back of the piece is a quote from Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass: “And as I to me, I know nothing else but miracles.”
A summer collaboration between myself and my husband, this is a recent addition to an ongoing series titled Love From Abroad, a celebration philatelic delights and other whimsical objects.
